Napier's Legacy Contest

An expert in mathematics, alchemy and the occult, John Napier created many things, including a complex abacus that lends its name to Derryl Murphy's new novel, Napier's Bones. To celebrate Napiers death on April 4, 1617, we've launched the Napier's Legacy Contest. Send us a story, joke or long-lost invention about John Napier and his obessions with mathematics for a change to win a limited edition hardcover, trade paperback or eBook Napier's Bones. Magic is just changing the odds.

Imaginary Book Contest

Win a free signed, limited-edition hardcover of Claude Lalumière's new book: The Door to Lost Pages.

Lost Pages is a strange bookshop that exists simultaneously across many realities, offering titles that should not, could not exist . . .and yet they do . . .but only at Lost Pages. Beginning February 17, 2011, submit, via the form on the contest page, the title and synopsis of an imaginary book you think would be found at Lost Pages.

The Great CZP Review Contest

A monthly contest to encourage readers to post reviews on Amazon and Goodreads for the opportunity to win CZP eBooks.

To participate:

  1. Write a review of one of our books on Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.uk or GoodReads—give us an honest assessment of what you think of our book.
  2. Submit a copy of your review through the form provided on our contest page.
  3. Keep doing it! You can enter as many times as you like as long as you’re reviewing a different book or posting on a different site.

Cities of Night Photo Contest

To celebrate the release of Philip Nutman's short story collection Cities of Night, we asked for your most subtle, creepy, evocative photos of your city—or any city—at night. The winner received:

  • A free, signed, limited edition hardcover copy of Cities of Night
  • Twenty-five postcards with their photo on one side and on the other a flash fiction story specifically written for your photo by Cities of Night author Philip Nutman
  • Their photo and story here on the CZP website
